St. Maurs’ Church dates from 1835 and was built on the site of an earlier 1760’s Church. It functioned as a Church until 1989 when the new Church opened. Since then it has been used as an arts centre. Extensive repairs were carried out in the early 1990’s under the supervision of FAS. It is now owned by St. Maurs’ Trust Limited. Employed to conduct a full survey of the Church, to provide a detailed assessment of the extent of the defects and to provide a schedule of works to assist with the restoration using minimal intervention techniques.
