TKB Southgate Associates involvement in this project was to construct a full conservation plan of all of the buildings. A number of projects on site include - The Aula Maxima; Finance Office; Re-roofing project taking place at present. We have been involved in several auxiliary houses surrounding the UCC complex and we have given advice and changed the methodology on how these works should be carried out. Smaller projects now being undertaken are under the direct supervision of the Buildings Office at UCC and our supervision. We act as Conservation Consultants for the buildings office restoration of historic buildings. We provide a full range of architectural services aimed to support and develop sustainable high-quality contemporary design. We believe it is significant on a durable long term perspective not only to conserve and keep alive our heritage but also to design new buildings in a sustainable and sensitive way in order to implement our natural and built environment without losing our cultural roots. In our experience as Conservation Consultants and Conservation Architects we have performed at all stages of various restoration projects initially providing preliminary site assessments, historical appraisals and related lower case initial feasibility proposals. Further consulting services are detailed architectural and decay surveys, conservation reports, methodologies for restoration, and specifications for restoration works, impact assessments and design proposals for restoration. We provide supporting documentation for Conservation on selected structures under the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government National Conservation Grant Scheme and other conservation grant schemes. During the building phase we perform Project Management for conservation works also in complex and historically sensitive building sites providing supervision and approval of restoration works in accordance with Best Conservation Practice principles.
